Endless Waves Salon, a hair salon located on the water in Duxbury, Massachusetts, sought to elevate its current branding and social media to better represent who they are as a warm, feminine, fun salon. The freelance project completed in Fall 2023 focused on an updated logo, consistent color palette and type, social media assets and templates, and a refreshed website appearance.

Objectives & Inspiration

The salon needed a consistent, individualized look that exemplified the feminine, beachy, calming vibe of the salon. The primary goal was to create a current, cohesive brand identity unique from other salons in the area.

Inspiration converges from a few sources: the beachy, coastal look and feel of the salon’s name and oceanside location in Duxbury, the feminine interior design of the salon and existing branding, and the modern work of the expert stylists of the salon. Beachy texture, pastel colors mixed with sandy neutrals, and organic waves filled the mood boards.

Palette & Type

A pale sand color, blush pink, and seafoam blue were chosen as the primary color scheme–feminine and aquatic. In addition, shades of the primary colors were included for maximum flexibility in how the branding can be used in social media and website content while keeping the look consistent.

In the original logo, the typeface Santorini was already in use. A modified version of it is used as the primary logo. Safira March, a sleek serif typeface for headings, and Inter, a readable sans-serif for body text, work together for a modern but contrasting look.

Social Media

28 Instagram feed templates and 25 story templates were designed with the new salon logos, color palette, and typefaces in InDesign and moved to Canva for the salon owner to easily edit and export for posting. Some templates created were stylist features, announcements, testimonials, quotes, events, etc.

Website

The website, hosted by Wix, got a sprucing up in its appearance with the application of the created resources and branding.

Product Mock-ups

The mock-ups below show how the logos and branding would look on items such as business cards, product bottles, and complimentary stickers.

Results

The revamped branding was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from the salon owner and the other stylists. The branding was successfully upgraded while maintaining the resemblance of the original logo.
