This personal branding project aimed to create a visual identity that reflects the themes of transformation, new beginnings, and rebirth symbolized through the butterfly fitting for a personal identity that values reinvention and new ideas.
Objectives
The goal of the project was to develop a brand identity that is both aesthetically pleasing and meaningful in its concept. The metaphor and imagery of the butterfly epitomizes the nature of transformation. I pride myself on my imaginative thinking, attention to detail, and my pursuit to constantly change and grow.
Palette & Type
Two typefaces were chosen for this project: Sloke, a funky, unique typeface for the logo wordmark and headers, and Helvetica Neue, a classic sans-serif, for body text. The two contrast well. Sloke gives an organic feel, while Helvetica adds structure and legibility.
The color palette was drawn from vibrant tones found in nature but toned down for a more professional, muted appearance. Bright coral is accented by warm browns and plums, creating a feminine, polished look. I wanted the palette to be both delicate and bold.
Concept & Inspiration
The butterfly and its metamorphosis was chosen as the main symbol because of its inherent symbolism of transformation, hope, and rebirth. I hope as both a person and a designer I can embody these characteristics, constantly changing and growing for the better.
